Travel Itinerary

DAY 1 - HA NOI - SAPA - MUONG HOA VALLEY - SAPA

From Hanoi, depart early in the morning for Sapa on a 5-hour drive along the expressway, passing scenic countryside and mountain landscapes. On arrival in Sapa, continue by car and on foot to explore the stunning Muong Hoa Valley, famous for its terraced rice fields and ethnic minority villages. Walk along narrow paths through the rice terraces, visit local houses, and learn about the daily life and culture of the Black Hmong and Giay people before returning to Sapa in the late afternoon. In the evening, you are free to stroll around Sapa town or relax at your hotel, where you will spend the night.

DAY 2 - SAPA – FANSIPAN PEAK – SILVER WATERFALL – SAPA[B/L]

After breakfast at your hotel in Sapa, depart for a full-day excursion to Fansipan Peak, the “Roof of Indochina.” Take the cable car or trek to the summit, enjoying breathtaking panoramic views of the Hoang Lien Son mountains and the surrounding valleys, and spend time at the top for sightseeing and photos. After descending, have lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to Silver Waterfall, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the area, surrounded by lush forests and scenic landscapes, where you can take photos and enjoy the fresh mountain air. In the late afternoon, return to Sapa town for free time to stroll around, visit the local market, or relax at your hotel, followed by dinner and an overnight stay in Sapa.

DAY 3 - SAPA - HOANG SU PHI(6 HOURS DRIVE) - NAM HONG[B/L]

After breakfast at your hotel in Sapa, depart for Hoang Su Phi on a scenic 6-hour drive through northern Vietnam’s mountainous landscapes, passing terraced rice fields, forests, and local villages along the way. Upon arrival, explore the area’s stunning natural beauty and traditional villages, learning about the culture and daily life of the local ethnic minority communities. Continue to Nam Hong, a peaceful village known for its picturesque surroundings, rice terraces, and authentic rural atmosphere. Arrive in the late afternoon, check in at your accommodation, overnight stay in Nam Hong.

DAY 4 - VISIT IN NAM HONG VILLAGE[B/L]

After breakfast, take a leisurely walk from your homestay to discover Nam Hong Village, a Red Dao community nestled among lush mountains and magnificent terraced rice fields. Stroll along small village paths and through rice terraces and tea hills, visit traditional earthen and wooden houses, and learn about the daily life, farming practices, and ancestral customs of the Red Dao people, with the chance to observe or join simple activities such as rice planting, cardamom picking, or handicraft making depending on the season. Surrounded by pristine nature, enjoy sweeping views of the valleys, forests, and layered rice terraces that make Hoang Su Phi famous as one of Vietnam’s most beautiful terraced landscapes. Later, continue your walk towards Nam Village, where you can further experience the tranquil rural atmosphere, see more traditional stilt houses, and interact with local families before returning to your homestay in Nam Hong in the late afternoon and an overnight stay.

DAY 5 - NAM HONG - HA GIANG - QUAN BA - NAM DAM[B/L]

After breakfast at your homestay in Nam Hong, say goodbye to the village and depart by car towards Ha Giang city, passing magnificent mountain scenery and terraced rice fields on the way. Stop at Ha Giang Km0 for a short break and photo stop, marking the official starting point of the legendary Ha Giang Loop. Continue your journey to Tha Village, a picturesque Tay ethnic minority village with traditional stilt houses surrounded by rice fields and palm trees, where you can walk around, visit a local house, and learn about the daily life and culture of the Tay people. Afterwards, drive up towards Quan Ba, making a stop to admire the famous Twin Mountains (Nui Doi) and the sweeping views over the surrounding valleys from the viewpoint. In the late afternoon, arrive in Nam Dam Village, a peaceful Dao ethnic community in Quan Ba district, check in at your local homestay, and enjoy dinner(fee on your side) and an overnight stay in the village, with time to experience the tranquil rural atmosphere and local hospitality.

DAY 6 - NAM DAM – LUNG TAM WEAVING VILLAGE – THAM MA PASS – HMONG KING’S PALACE – DONG VAN[B/L]

After breakfast at your homestay in Nam Dam, depart for a scenic drive through the karst mountains and valleys of Quan Ba, stopping first at Lung Tam weaving village, home to the Hmong people, where you can visit a local cooperative, observe the traditional process of making linen from hemp, dyeing with natural colours, and weaving intricate textiles, with the opportunity to shop for handmade products. Continue your journey along winding mountain roads towards Tham Ma Pass, pausing at the viewpoint to admire the dramatic zigzag road and lush valleys below, a classic photo spot on the Ha Giang Loop. From there, drive deeper into the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark and visit the Hmong King’s Palace (Vuong Palace), a historic residence built in the early 20th century with a unique blend of Chinese, French, and Hmong architectural styles, where you can learn about the former Hmong royal family and their role in the region. In the late afternoon, proceed to Dong Van town, check in at your hotel, and have free time to stroll around the old quarter before enjoying dinner(fee on your own) and an overnight stay in Dong Van.

Note: In Dong Van, on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings, there is a walking street and a cultural performance with music and singing in the Old Quarter of Dong Van.

DAY 7 - DONG VAN - MA PI LENG PASS - MEO VAC - SHARED BOAT TRIP IN NHO QUE RIVER - HA GIANG[B/L]

After breakfast in Dong Van, depart for a full-day journey through some of Ha Giang’s most iconic landscapes. Drive along the Ma Pi Leng Pass, one of the most spectacular mountain passes in Vietnam, with dramatic cliffs and breathtaking panoramic views of the Nho Que River winding far below. Stop at several viewpoints along the pass to take photos and admire the sheer beauty of the karst mountains and deep valleys. Continue down to the river and take a shared boat on the Nho Que River, enjoying the peaceful emerald waters and stunning scenery of the canyon from a unique perspective. After the boat trip, continue to Meo Vac, a small town surrounded by terraced fields and traditional villages, where you can explore the local market and interact with ethnic minority communities. In the afternoon, begin the return journey to Ha Giang city.

DAY 8 - HA GIANG - HA NOI[B]

After breakfast in Ha Giang, depart for the drive back to Hanoi, enjoying the scenic countryside, mountains, and valleys of northern Vietnam along the way. Stop for short breaks as needed and take in the views of local villages, terraced fields, and rural landscapes. Continue the journey via the expressway and main roads, arriving in Hanoi in the late afternoon or evening, where the tour concludes with a drop-off at your hotel.
